What are the odds of these being included with FCPX? Or are they more likely add-ons through the store? Maybe $150 and 50 respectively.....

PS - I'm happy it's going to the app store because I'm assuming this means no 50GB of data to fill up my SSD.

You do realize the excessive amount in data in Motion, Soundtrack, & Others are from templates (aka, extra files you don't have to install). You could probably install the entire Final Cut Studio Suite in probably 3GBs without all the extra template.

Back to the matter at hand, after watching the videos, I think this is going to be great for prosumers & hobbyists. It really seems they simplified complicated editing. This will definitely appeal to college students & small-time editors who have simple workflows - import to FC, edit, export to DVD/Web.

However, I can see this being a problem for professional editors. The lack of tracks poses problems, just off the top of my head.

Clearly, no one is forcing current editors to switch from FCS3 to FCPX. I'm sure Apple will sell both concurrently for a couple years.

I'm already with Cingular. I hope that I don't have to switch carriers so I can have an iPhone.

Hopefully this sets a precedent and other companies start following El Gato's lead here (and Sling for that matter). I don't have EyeTV but it would be great if DirecTV or U-Verse could do this. U-Verse seems so ripe for this kind of stuff since it's network-based anyway.

It's not in a parking lot. There are no parking lots where cars park like that, how the hell could you get away ? Open air parking lots are also pretty rare here... Especially in the city.

Second thing: he's idleing. Third, it's just a friggin traffic jam. Most people here drive manual cars so we're not on our brakes the whole time. We just flip it in neutral.

I'd bet a �1000 euros that he's on the R1 (ring around Antwerp) or maybe the Singel (inner ring) just standing still in traffic.

What's the big deal with taking a quick picture while doing 0km/h in a traffic jam??

No bluetooth on Dell Precision T3500?

You can add these and still save over 1000$ over a Mac Pro.

Seems the Dell Precision T3500 power supply is 525 watts where the Mac Pro
is 980Watts. As far as I could find.

But you can't even run two higher-end GPUs in the Mac Pro :rolleyes: It doesn't really matter how big the PSU is when you can't use its power. It's not like the 525W isn't capable of running the Dell T3500.

Have to factor in Heavy duty aluminum case vs thin sheet metal & plastic. Mac Pro cases are not cheap.

And the Dell would still end up being around 1000$ cheaper.

With Vista going to computer manufacturers now, I highly doubt that it will be pushed all the way into the summer. Although it is Microsoft, and this IS Vista, but I still don't think it would happen. MS would release it anyway and a crapload of updates following if necessary.

I think Leopard is farther away than many speculate. If Apple really wanted to release it right in January, you would think they would want a bigger hoopla to build the hype, which would have to happen almost immediately. Even then, you would think as neared completion we probably would have gotten a rumor or leak concerning the supposed top secret features by now. While I have nothing but gut feeling to go on, I think it'll be *really* previewed at MacWorld with a release, maybe March or April, possibly into May.

And that would make more sense. Let Vista's dust settle, let the bitching commence, maybe even a couple highly publicized virus or spyware incidents, then swoop in with Leopard, showing that even after MS had 5 years of development to rip off OSX, Apple is still ahead of them. That would give time for hype, and give Apple the press coverage. Not only is it likely, it makes sense.

For Summer read Winter in the US and for Autumn read Spring in the US.

Granted my room is a bit of an anomaly, but.. still.. there's a lot of macs around ;) (We have 2 macbooks (1 black, 1 white), and my iBook g4)

And.. if apple would hurry up and update the MBPs.. We'd have one of those too :D

I was hoping this would fix the BootCamp/Apple Bluetooth Keyboard issue (you have to turn the keyboard off and on when first booting Windows for the keyboard to be recognized). Unfortunately, no luck.

I think Apple blew it with the new iPod Shuffle. They should have kept the old form factor but put in a small LCD display to show song titles and elapsed time.

Ordered a 3.4 iMac, not sure when it will show up with the SSD BTO... Now where are the bigadvs for OS X????????

I see that there are lots of angry people over there. Especially because of Outlook in this Office 2011. I don't use Outlook, but Word and Excel are my tools. I can say that i got almost no annoyances when working with them...

Panic. I installed the firmware, the little bar was moving across the screen, and then halfway across -- the computer shut down. Now my screen is dead, I can't tell if the hard drive is functioning, my restore CD is 20 miles away, and I'm scared witless. WTF?!?!?!

Suggestions?


You have to burn the firmware CD with another mac computer (perhaps apple store guy can help). Then, you can boot from this CD, and the update of firmware will continue. GOOD LUCK.
