This shouldnt be called 3d, its not in any sense 3d. You need a stereoscopic image to do 3d. This is a cool illusion but it is not 3d at all.

Imagine how awesome it would be if this was combined with the 3DS tech, not only to make it possible for you to look around objects like shown in the video (that should be possible with software on the 3DS) but also to adjust the displays to send the two images to where your eyes are, not just straight forward and force you to keep the device still.
Not possible. Glasses free 3d requires very narrow viewing angles, you cant move your head around or the 3d effect is lost.

This would work great with normal 3d glasses, there is no limit to the viewing angle and the glasses themselves will be able to work like the wiimote/move controller and send data about their position creating a much more accurate effect without judder.

Looks nice. It would look dead sexy sitting next to a white Macbook or an older white iMac.

However, I don't think it is cool enough to try to replace my two month old (black) ViPhone 4.

I might still buy a white iPad, but my phone has a two-tone blue Incipio "sil" cover on it. In other words, you wouldn't really be able to tell if it was white very easily anyway.

You read in my comments what you want, I clearly stated that both parties are at fault. I don't recognize the "victim" angle on the woman's side, it doesn't mean I don't think the guy was in the right either. Both can be wrong (novel concept, I know).

Now now... this sounds more like a personel preference then fact. I can say the same about whiskey or scotch. Don't like the taste. I can say I have grown more custom to the darker beers. And comparing Budweiser which is a lager to Chimay which is a belgium ale is trully disrespectiful to the beer gods! :D

There are sooooo many different type of beers out there also. Just like there is of other types of alcohol.

Oh- it's definitely a matter of personal preference. Like I said, the "better" it supposedly is, the nastier it tastes to me. :)

People used to always tell me- "You've just never had good beer before". Oh please- yes, I have. Then I'd start listing the "good" beers I'd had. They'd say- "Wow- yeah, you don't like beer." ;)

This was only a sample of what i found on ebay.. The Quad G5's are still demanding in the lower 300's to mostly 400 and as high as 700 dollars. Again, the reason why I was suggesting either of the dual cores or Quads was because of how rugged they were + how fast they were.

Once I know the position of my interview and get hired with a good company, I might go ahead and get either a dual core 2.3 or Quad. I originally had the Quad, but sold it as by doing so it allowed me to go with an Intel Mac Pro 2006 model. Currently, I have the 2010 Mac Pro.. so all my Intel stuff is well taken care of.

I guess the G5 Quad would take care of my G5 nostalgia, but yet remain a perfect, and efficient machine for everyday tasks.. Although I use the PB G4 1.67 for my everyday tasks, the mac pro is only used for certain things like dvd ripping, handbrake, etc.

Just that its difficult when you get some else's G5 Quad, you don't know if the LCS will burst or something.

I mean, how much slower is the dual core 2.3 versus the Quad?

Ok, see that is where I was going with posting this article. I was wondering if it were even possible to hold on to a windshield wiper blade for that length of time? I mean, wouldn't pressure or force or something cause the blade to snap? They just don't seem that strong.

Climb onto the front of a minivan and get someone to drive it at 30mph: I suspect you will find the aerodynamic pressure quite impressive. The keyword here is "minivan". Those usually have rather more vertical noses than your typical automobile, so the air pressure will tend to pin you onto the front.

I can't believe there are people out there dumb enough to buy one of these when a new iPhone is, by all indications, probably less than 5 months away.

I'm blind in my right eye, and this will allow for me to experience 3D for the first time. Existing methods require binocular vision but this works for me, and I was pretty darned convinced. I don't see how you guys can expect better than this, seriously!

And it seems to me that they are pursuing BOTH technologies with equal effort. It seemed strange to me that they would put so much effort into to two technologies when they would likely only use one for cases/structural requirements.

And then I found this excerpt from a book which describes how to fuse carbon fibre with metal alloys to create a sandwich which is similar to the first patent l linked to above.:

The (carbon) fiber layer is laid down carefully in the proper orientation on top of a metal foil and then covered with another metal foil. The metal-fiber sandwich is then compressed (the foils help retain the fibers in place) and heated to above the melting point of the metal. This heating with compression causes the metal foils to melt and infuse with the fibers, thus wetting the fibers and distributing the metal throughout the structure.

Based on all this, my guess is that apple is making some kind of fusion casing material that will be mouldable like liquid metal, have the extra strength of carbon fibre, and have the strength/weight properties of both. That would also explain some of the "darker" metal/liquid metal pics that have been floating around.

Atleast there is something good about DELAY rumors... they push for real release date rumors and more info on the new product.

Same thing happened with the iPad 2 Delay rumors.

Stocks go down and people start looking towards other products when delay rumors surface. So the pressure to bring other realistic release date comes out

I've been torn between the MBA 11 and MBA 13. I'm replacing a desktop PC with it, though - this will be my main machine.

The price doesn't really enter into it, much - the 11/4/128/1.6 MBA runs 1399, and the 13/4/128/1.86 MBA runs 1399 as well. For the 11, you get the sweet small size and higher portability - for the 13, you get the higher resolution and the SD card slot.

Hopefully there'll be a more clear-cut winner once the refresh hits. ;)

I'm pretty sure my phone already does the same thing.

Unless Valve is in the business of selling boxes it makes perfect sense.

Not really as the boxed version can be sold on (PS3/360) whereas the Steam version is restricted to the account it was bought on.

I have one that is dropping calls 1/4 of the time. Was at Apple store. An employee there bought a bumper for his. He sounded frustrated over the dropped calls. You fanboys got to come up with something more that people are morons or whining over it. I assure you this issue is quite real.

Will pirates be able to use this technology? I'm not sure how successful the eye tracking will be when using an eye patch.
Arrr, the beauty of this is that it works for people who only have vision in one eye - Google "Wiggle Stereoscopy". Presumably it be head tracking rather than eye tracking.

But will me hook get caught on the objects when I try and drag the screen?

How many page ins? Close to or over a million? If the # of page outs is < half # of page ins, there is absolutely no reason at all to upgrade memory. It won't make your system any faster or better responsive. If it is more than half, your system could use a memory upgrade and the closer the two numbers are together, the higher your need for memory.

Number of page outs are completely irrelevant and don't mean diddle squat, unless viewed in relation to the number of page ins.

It's 1.5 Million Page Ins and 83,053 page outs (just took a new reading, same as yesterday) IT'S HEARTBREAKING!!!! Don't worry little Mac, OWC has more RAM on the way...

There was already a very slim chance that I would buy Kinect anyway, but now at $150 it is a definite pass for me. I have practically zero interest in motion controls for my gaming needs, and when it costs that much, it gets even worse.

Well provided AT&T actually acts on the information generated by the app, it's a win-win. Customers get to report exact gaps in performance and AT&T has an inexpensive and widespread source of feedback to act on.

Anyways, for ATT, this is a perfect little app to save lots of money for them. Smart idea.

Updated the day it came out and so far, everything is fine, except that I've had System Preferences crash a couple of times, which is odd, as System Preferences very rarely crashes. That may not even be related to the firmware update, though. Other than that, it's all good.

That's silly. I think you should be able to copy just one drive over with the current data on the disc already intact.

Anyway, Sony is planning an 80 GB version of the PS3. Maybe they're going to take the 20 GB model off and put the 60 GB at $549 and have the 80 GB at $599? Who knows when this'll happen. I'm guessing around holiday season.
