I get a kick out of reading these types of forums. The "my import is so much better than your domestic" types are really just a bunch of poseurs. Several years ago I owned a bar and I had a standing bet that no one could pick their brand out of a six glass line up. I had to pay a guy once, but I think he got a lucky guess, 1 out of 6, the odds are that someone will guess correctly. To me, beer is beer. Golf and hanging out at the lake are about the only time I drink beer anyway. My drink of choice is whiskey, Jack Daniel's Tennessee Sippin whiskey neat to be specific. Anyone who mixes good whiskey with ANYTHING should be put to death on the spot. Mix with blends, not the good stuff. And for those of you who don't know, Jack Daniel's IS NOT BOURBON. Never has been, never will be. So all you folks quit calling it bourbon.

+1 for the awesome title.
Yes, wow, and I've read the Einstein bio (I'm a physicist) and it is terrific.

Super basic.
Better exception handling in Finder.
When you copy files and some already exist, rather than terminating the action with no clue what was the hold-up, complete it with a list of exceptions for dealing with as a separate matter.
There are other examples of where exception handling could be added.
Think of all the features we had under text based computers that were LOST when we went to graphical based computers, and reinstall them.
Even though many of the files are media, their names are text. :D
Funny suggestion: Finder personalities.

Yeah I like the vertical traffic lights too. Makes the top border smaller which is good. It helps by not taking as much pixels for the top border.
Kinsey and Ellie KemperIt's a great inovative concept. One that could actually be popular and work.

There is zero logic to that assertion. It sounds like it came from Fox News.
Not really. The world market share (which, presumably, includes the US) is static. Apple's share in the US, has increased. Therefore, the market share in (some) other countries has decreased.

Weird that he didn't try to shake her off. Mythbusters showed that it's impossible to hold on to a car beyond a certain turning force.
by ellie kemper Glee toSo since I have stopped listening, if you could, please explain about the hard drive being worth $179. Because Newegg is listing 120 gig laptop drives for less than $80.
Ok here goes...
Fair comment, Major Nelson, or the guy he's talking to goes on to say about the price difference, the enclosure for the drive, the testing done for the drives that have to live up to a standard of performance and how long they last for. Quality control I guess, yes i know theres been problems with the xbox 360 before anyone says anything about that, but then again, we only hear mainly about the problems with peoples consoles, not about all the ones that people arent having problems with.
Microsoft dont make the hard drives, they buy them, enclose them, add the required software, etc, and then sell them at a profit, OMG a company making a profit,.. I do think that they should drop the price though, but not to less than $80, Id say $140 seems fair.
Ellie Kemper of THE OFFICEAnybody knows if the game will refuse to launch on a MBP with an ATI x1600?
Or maybe a way to fool the steam games?
Ellie Kemper of the OfficeCool story. Only problem, of course, is the facts.
iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS are the #1 and #2 selling handsets.
Not big on business sense, are you? Apple doesn't "let old models slip down on pricing" because they don't have to. Do you think other companies reduce prices on their phones out of the goodness of their heart? They lower the prices because nobody wants them.
Hang on a moment. You say:
"iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS are the #1 and #2 selling handsets."
So in that case they would be at the very top of the phone sales, not at 5% they can't be the top selling handsets in No.1 and No.2 positions and not be at the top. that just does not make sense.

At last, somebody who got it.
Got what?
Wait... you were joking? This is NOT a time to joke. I just spent the last half hour squeezing into my red ensign outfit, and as soon as my shift here at Movie Galaxy is over I'm picketing Best Buy.
Everyone, let's meet there. Once we're fully assembled we'll discuss strategies.
Ellie Kemper Was Hot at theExcellent, I can't wait to be able to sync Outlook with my iPhone again.
I probably shouldn't have upgraded until this feature was available as I've really missed it over the past month. D'oh :D

Regardless of when Leopard's released, at least Steve can tell us about those "super secret" features he was on about. Right?
Right?
of ellie kemper in MysteryAnd for the record, this country was founded by white, anglo-saxon men who were all of some Christian faith. It wasn't founded by pagans, or Muslims, or Taoists or Shintoists or Buddhists or Atheists or anyone else. It was "God-fearing" Christian men who thought it best to write a document (the Constitution) wherein the rights of each individual person to believe as they wished should not be abrogated by the Government. However, we're referring to society here, not the U.S. Government.
</rant>
Excuse me, I'm an Atheist and I'm not even American, I celebrate Christmas not because of religion but because of the family union that it represents and generates and that keeps getting harder to mantain, I am an atheist and I don't hate Jesus Christ, I respect his name, was probably one of the greatest people who lived, I just don't believe in god, that's all.
However, your country was founded by (and this is the part where you forgot some elements) ensalvering, native american killers, catholic (not christian) whites. Catholicism that made the inquisition so no one else could have their religion so don't talk about being opressed and disrespecting other people's rights because that's what's being done for centuries in the name of Christ, even he had no ideia of how people would distort his words to do so much harm. Of course that I agree with you when you say people should **** sometimes, Christmas represents a happy time and whatever, people shouldn't remove the word from everything, that's just stupid and I'm sure a lot of people from other religions have no problem with that so let's not generalize. There's nothing wrong in having different beliefs but believe me, Catholics have a lot of stains in their history.
Ah, just one more thing, the constitution was wrote after decades of slavery, when the black people finally started stepping up, forcing the whites to give them some rights. Otherwise, we would still have slavery.
Ellie Kemper is phuckinMy computer doesn't shut down like it's supposed to... It'll end up on a blank screen with an idle HD (the screen will dim, then brighten with input and everything)... long story short, I have to force-shutdown every time, but apparently with no ill-effects because I do so near the end of the shutdown cycle... idk
Anyway, I can't get the update to install. I get the flashing light, the gross noise, and two startup chimes, but no firmware updating. It simple restarts and prompts me to update firmware from the start. Help?
P.S. 15" Macbook Pro and logging out first doesn't help the no shutdown issue
Ellie Kemper, Part 2For something like OS re-installs, maybe USB drives. For everything else, downloads, probably. That seems like a logical course of action. But then again, a lot of people don't like to use logic when they make decisions.
You've never installed Final Cut Studio, I'm guessing.
and Ellie Kemper need moreiLounge: you can now sync between multiple computers using an iPod, as long as both are authorized on the same account
Oh hell yes. Now this makes me happy.

Funny how people are still amazed Nokia is still around. Nokia sells more phones in 1 year than Apple has sold iOS devices PERIOD. Apple sues people to high-hell and back, just as Nokia is doing now. The patent market is a market for cross-licensing and screwing your competition, don't you all realize this just yet? This isn't a act of desperation for money per se, it is an act to hinder a big player. Stop polishing Apple's knob and get some sense out of what these actually lawsuits actually mean and why they are formed.
Also, Nokia is not wasting resources. There is a reason why they using in-house lawyers. They were previously paying their lawyers for doing nothing, now they are doing paying them to do something atleast. So stop with the jokes about being a waste of resources as if anything, they are getting their moneys worth from there stupid lawyers to begin with.
The Office Ellie KemperUm regarding the SATA II thing: from this OWC blog page... (http://blog.macsales.com/10050-firmware-update-enables-6gbs-in-2011-imacs?APC=XLR8YourMac09)
Well that was quick! Just two days after they were released, the 2011 iMacs have a firmware update.
While iMac EFI Update 1.6 is described as including fixes that improve performance and stability for Thunderbolt, it would also seem that an unadvertised benefit is that it also unlocks the full 6Gb/s, SATA 3.0 capabilities of two of the internal drive bays.
So, relevant or not, happy now?:)

8 gauge is just a bit bigger than pencil size this is the best pic i have so far:
but you can see my eyebrow and labret too!
I was told on my upsizing of nip ring, that I was going to an 8 gauge. Now this is now where near "pencil size" (at least for the #2 pencils I have used). Unacurate measurement says the an 8 Gauge is about 1/8" across. A pencil I compared to would indicate between a 4 and 6 gauge.
BTW, every "hot" looking photo. :)
Wondering just how many you can't show here on MR? :D
I'm currently visiting Manhattan, and so far the AT&T coverage here is fairly good (far better than the spotty and horrible unreliable coverage in SF).

aside from that
anyone wonder if google will google is planning to eat apple?
Not gonna happen. Google has no legs, just potential. Apple has been around for 30 years.
Google's greatest assests are their data-collection/data-mining libraries. The rest of it is crap (scientific term!).
Oh how nice, instead of AT&T doing the work themselves they are having us do it for free.
**** you AT&T
Since you are the one having the problem, submit the report. they can send technicians all over the country and they may not experience problems in the same areas, but if you can pinpoint it for them it may be easier for them to fix the issue.
its especially nice since it pinpoints the spot on a map for them. there are spots that i sometimes have issues, but say 500 feet away its fine. not saying we'll see improvements overnight, but definitely a step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned.

You have obviously never had a Newcastle that has gone skunky. I love Newcastle, but I hate those clear bottles.
I've never really been a fan of Newcastle, so I've definitely never had a skunked one.
US-made Budwesier is foul. Though, America does not have a monopoly on horrible beer, as anyone who has had a Foster's, Carlsberg, Heineken, Tecate or Molson will attest.
You forgot Corona! They flat out tell you their beer will probably be skunked before you drink it, so put a lime in it!

No, that's bourbon.
Budweiser, Miller, PBR, Old Style, Lone Star, etc. are all very similar. They are great to drink after any strenuous exercise, running, biking, etc. In fact, I defy you name any type of beer that is better to drink, afterward.
I generally stick to water after exercising, but I like wheat beers on hot days. Still light, and no rice.
Rolling Rock (which if anybody knows where to get them in this country I'd be eternally grateful).
Ask A-B InBev (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_Rock).
