Lauren Conrad WatercolorAustralia has affordable quality healthcare. Well, probably like the British healthcare. Is that quality?
Whether or not the UK has quality healthcare is up for debate. But what it does have is low cost and access.
In my personal experience, and according to WHO rankings, France has the best healthcare in the world.
Japan is ranked #10 according to the world health organization.
The US is ranked #37  Most of that has to do with poor access. The wealthy get the best care, arguably in the world. Sucks for the bottom 95% though.

I wish Apple would at least go on the record to say "no iLife" or "iLife with leopard" or "iLife soon."
I have some projects lined up and it would be nice to wait for some new themes for iDVD. If I had some sort of idea of when its coming out it would make me feel better about starting or holding off certian projects.
Lauren ConradI haven't posted a desktop in forever--I didn't even realize these threads were still going!
Been having fun playing with Camera+ and my records...one of the pictures from doing that is my current desktop:
Lauren Conrad PictureOther than being glad simply because England won (and Australia didn't :D) I'm particularly thankful as well since I'm spending next weekend with 5 Aussises and they would have been unbearable had Australia won :DWhereas now you can be unbearable instead. Result!.

Just because a couple of geeks running MacRumours think this is front page worthy doesn't mean it is.
This just in, a game came out for Mac!
It's more embarrassing to the OS then anything.
This just in.... tosser on macrumors..
So shall we all just wait for you to decide what is and isn't news then, or do we have a choice to make up our own minds?

That's a great point. I hear, "the goal of every business is to make money" here on Macrumors a lot, but Apple is doing very well, and as long as they make money because they are designing amazing technology, not the other way around, they're doing just fine by me.
Actually, I think Apple is starting to push into the business market. They seem very serious about their upcoming Xserve launch in the next couple weeks and the iMacs make excellent office computers. Not to mention the current commercial specifically mentioning that their systems run MS Office. I'm willing to bet we'll see a bigger business/corporate market push by Apple once Office goes universal binary.
Anyway, while we're on that subject, does anyone know of a good accounting program for the Mac? And NOT Quickbooks! I despise that software, Intuit has over-simplified it to a point where it actually takes too many redundant steps to do a lot of things. That and its payroll support is a joke since you have to pay them extra to use it and well... I'm not even going to go there.

Yeah but who wants to keep up with 2 when you could just buy one?
I have to agree. I know it's not a big deal but I use my Shuffle primarily as a flash drive. It plugs in my computer when I get to work and I work from it. But I also keep enough tracks on it to bail me out on my journey home should its big iPod brother run out of battery power (I'm not very good at charging!). I wouldn't buy a new Shuffle just for music as it wouldn't get used enough but the music capability was handy to have.
Having said that, I love the new look. :)
cute anime guys.I've been running at 4.2ghz. My volts are very good too at 1.26, I did manage 4.4 @ 1.27v but wasn't stable enough under my current cooling. I upgraded the mobo to an Asus Rampage III Extreme and upgraded the PSU to a TX850 Corsair. I'm getting my old 1600w Ultra X3 replaced with the X4 and will probably run that as I want to add more GPUs to my system, more than likely 2 more 460s.
nice! hey did i hear they released a 460 x2?
Interesting how the 970 @ 4.2 is about 4-5 min faster than the 2600k @ 4.5 on the same WU.
edit: Forgot that it was a hexacore :)
yeah 6 cores make a difference. both are still great. looking forward to the next gen 6 and 8 cores from intel
Lauren Conrad has a growingThis is a very decent idea and says AT&T is getting ready to address patchy coverage.
Lets hope they take a transparent approach, share what they learn, and most importantly implement fixes quickly. Boosting coverage or other similar cell fixes these days can be almost plug and play so a fast response to logged faults would signal that they're worthy of our business.

I don't think they should add cut and paste because it's metaphorically confusing (and they never will add it for this reason), but a Path Finder-like drop stack (which is essentially the same thing, but with visual cues) would be very nice.
A Path Finder-like split view is would also be very handy for moving files.
The OS doesn't need built-in social media integration. There are plenty of twitter clients, and the official Facebook Notifications menu bar item is fine.

Haha, they would have to PAY ME 150 bucks to play any of the kinect games they have revealed so far!!
And I'm not even sure about that....how do you put a price on your dignity?
:p
winter clothing,Well I fixed the video problem... I have been using a KVM to route all video to one monitor that way I don't have to keep unplugging the monitor from each machine as I check it, so I decided to see what would happen if I hooked the monitor directly to the 980x and it works perfectly that way.
Then I tried to load the folding apps and that didn't go so well so I have some more work to do to figure that out.
well glad you got it figured out.
as for the folding apps, let me know what you tried, so i can help you get it working!
Lauren Conrad#39;s Gone BRUNETTE!Actually, LoopRumors (http://www.looprumors.com/LoopBlackPopup.php?leopard-available-at-mwsf-07) is reporting that Leopard might be released at Macworld next January.
That would be awesome, but we will see if it happens... :)
LaurenconradWhat I want to see from WWDC:
1) New PowerMac (Mac Pro?).
2) New xServer.
3) Updates for MacBook Pros, iMac, MacBook, Mac Mini Lines.
4) New iPods.
5) Something cool and unexpected from the preview of Leopard.
6) Steve in his usual smart and practical black turtle neck.
Then I'd be happy :D
1. Most likely
2. More than likely only it's called an "xServe."
3. Possibly, no, no, no. Remember, this is a developer/professional conference. It's got nothing to do with consumer hardware or software.
4. No - not a consumer conference, wait till Apple surprise us with a special event or maybe at Apple Expo Paris if Jobs is doing a keynote.
5. Most definitely
6. But will he wear joggers (Nikes?) or socks with sandals (the "iDag" look)???
funny baby clothes sayingsI have noticed office seems to start faster now :)
Published 10/01/2010 CelebsHey everyone.
I'm in school right now. Does the MacRumorsLive.com work on cell phones? The only free time I get is at lunch when we can use our cell phones?
Thanks everyone.

people value what they value. do you think they are getting what they paid for in terms of education? probably not.
I have a hard time believing that even working a part-time job would pay for $70-$90/month data plan. Remember they have to pay rent, food, utilities. Or they are living with parents.

Not gonna happen. For starters, how do you type in names for your audio tracks when you've got your keyboard swapped for a mixer? :)
If you're a DJ you don't. There's no need when you're doing a gig. But if you do, use your cell phone.
The laptop would have wireless in it. Why not make simple wireless connectivity to have a constant connection with the keyboard when detached?
To play devil's advocate, why not just have a bluetooth mixer? I know, it lacks Wow factor.
COULD YOU EXPLAIN IT PLEASE?

Whoa, that is really trippy. Lots of potential with this technology on the iPad.
more FUD as 2.1/2.2 make up about 90% of the install base
linky (http://appleheadlines.com/2011/03/17/over-97-of-android-users-still-arent-up-to-date-fragmentation-continues/)
had both, decided to pay for the iphone instead of having work pay for the droid.
too much fragmentation and too many issues.
I can buy radio direction finders and transmitters online and do the same.
Or I can buy GPS trackers, and also stick it on someone's car.
Those solutions are easier, more accurate, etc......and not terribly expensive. That speaks to the point these researchers are making. They used the Nike+iPod Sport Kit as their example, but their message is that all sorts of gadgets with wireless communications capabilities can have these types of problems, especially if thought isn't give to the issue during design.

To wrap up, those of you who have smart phones, whattya use AND what do you think to probability that Apple will release a phone w/ smart phone capabilities?
Thanks
Coachingguy
If Apple were at some point going to add a smartphone capabilities into its iPhones, then I doubt it'd be in the first version. If they do this, they're jumping into the mobile phone making market for the first time, so it'd be way too big a leap to jump in with a phone that's the swiss army knife of the digital age. The goal is going to be take away mainstream phone sales from companies that are launching phone & music playing devices. Smartphone users, while high in number, are still not mainstream.
Maybe someday they'll have a range of phones and smartphone will be an option? Are you a Newton fan by any chance? :P
And my current "smartphone" is a Palm T|C and a Moto SLVR.

I am not a big user of cloud based storage, but is this way of storage really reliable? compared to regular hard drive storage?
